Rotator cuff syndrome / rotator cuff injuries

IVRJoint rehabilitationRotator cuff syndrome / rotator cuff injuries

Injuries of the rotator cuff (a group of muscles and tendons in the shoulder) are caused by traumas of the shoulder girdle: dislocated shoulders and collarbones, broken collarbones and other bones in the structure of the shoulder girdle, as well as by long-term overload and aging of tissues in the elderly.

Rotator cuff injuries often occur in athletes, for example, swimmers or baseball, tennis, and basketball players. At first regular lifting and raising of arms leads to compression of the rotator cuff muscles, then to microtrauma, local inflammation, swelling and injuries of the tendons in the cuff, including injuries of the tendon of the supraspinatus muscle.

Symptoms of the rotator cuff syndrome

  1. Pain and weakness in shoulder joints while lifting or raising arms;

  2. Crepitus (crackling sounds) when moving shoulder joints; and

  3. Restriction of shoulder joint movement.

Treatment options for the rotator cuff syndrome at the Institute of Vertebrology and Rehabilitation

Moderate controlled exercise should be systematically performed for treatment purposes after sufficient healing and reduction of inflammation with therapeutic blockades and physiotherapy. We are able to control exercise required for the treatment with the help of software and special movement stoppers installed on the David training stimulators. Thus, regular doses of load keep the muscles in good shape without the risk of doing harm, and supply the joints with enough nutrition.

F420 DMS-EVE

The F420 DMS-EVE stimulator is used to train the latissimus dorsi, greater teres muscle, biceps, and deep shoulder muscles.

F430 DMS-EVE

The F430 DMS-EVE stimulator is used to train deltoid and trapezoid back muscles. It has an easy-to-adjust arm support system for patients of all heights and sizes.

F500 DMS-EVE

The F500 DMS-EVE stimulator is used to train the greater and smaller pectoral muscles. It has an easy-to-adjust arm support system, an adjustable contoured seat and special back support for even more convenience and safety.

F510 DMS-EVE

The F510 DMS-EVE stimulator is used to train the greater and smaller pectoral muscles, triceps and the shoulder belt.

F620 DMS-EVE

The F620 DMS-EVE stimulator is used to train and rehabilitate the deltoid, trapezius and supraspinatus muscles after injuries or pulling.

M62

The M62 stimulator is used for workouts of biceps and triceps and improvement of intramuscular coordination.
